Why is your Domain Name Important to you?
A domain name is the name by which an organisation's presence is identified on the internet
Your choice of domain name can have a big impact on the image and prestige of your company and also has an influence on the success of your activities on the world wide web. At present there is not a great deal of regulation controlling who can have what domain name. This is good in one sense since it gives a company freedom to choose the most appropriate name. However it also means that the name or names you want can easily be registered by someone else, even if those names have less relevance to them than to you. If you are too late with your registration the chance to choose the name you want may possibly be lost forever!
So even if you are taking your time in assessing how, or even whether, you should be present on the internet you would be well advised to take steps now to protect those names which will be of importance to you in the future. Fortunately this is easy to do and doesn't cost a fortune.
The Importance of Link Building
Link Building is an important part of Search Engine Optimisation, and is a practice of getting other websites to link to yours. Link Building with quality backlinks is amongst many important aspects considered by search engines, while determining the rankings of a site. Therefore, creating backlinks is one of the most important tasks you can undertake to promote your website with the search engines.
When it comes to using the Search Engine Optimization technique for a website, Links pointing to a particular website is one of the most dominant off-page factors. Link building is vital but at the same time, a very lengthy and extensive task to perform. The reason why many webmasters are on a lookout for some shortcut options to increasing backlinks, is because most of them do not have the time and the endurance to carry out a genuine link building campaign.
Can Engagement and Community Factors Increase Your Rankings on YouTube?
This article was taken from a post written by Glenn Gabe at http://www.reelseo.com/youtube-ranking/. It covers a real important issue surrounding YouTube videos and the exposure you can potentially get from those videos. It was such a good post I thought I would share it here with all of you so we could understand the importance of Youtube but also how to use such a site to your advantage. The post follows:
I attended Search Engine Strategies New York a few weeks ago and covered the conference via Twitter and blogging. I had a blast at the conference and attended some outstanding sessions during my three days at SES. One session that I always enjoy attending is Video SEO (since I do a lot of VSEO work). It’s great to hear from the panelists and compare what they are presenting to what I’m seeing with my own projects.
I was excited to see that Greg Markel from Infuse Creative was one of the panelists this year. If you don’t know Greg, you should. He knows his stuff and always brings a real world perspective to his presentations. This year he covered YouTube ranking factors. The session ventured beyond the traditional “optimize your title, description, and tags” and introduced various community factors that also impact rankings. By the way, YouTube’s own Matthew Liu was also on the panel and it was interesting to watch Matthew’s reaction as Greg presented the various factors. I watched carefully, to say the least.
If I remember correctly, Greg’s advice to the audience was, “we should all ask Matthew a lot of questions during this session…” I think everyone got their money’s worth based on the information shared about YouTube optimization.
The Basics of Keyword Research
Often, before publishing content we either do not perform any keyword research, or perform it on a so and so basis. Therefore we don't give us a chance to get free traffic from search engines. In is this post I will hope to explain briefly how to plan and organize your keyword research.
Many of us make the mistake of assuming that a ranking for one generic term related to their site will turn their website into a profitable success. However, it is a fact that targeting multiple terms will not only drive traffic, but also lead to that all-important conversion.
Webinars - The new craze
If you happen to play around on the internet a bit then you have probably heard about them. Online Webinars I mean. Chances are that you may have been invited to attend an online webinar or even attended one in the last few months. Webinars are a new craze that is taking the Internet Marketing community by storm. And there is a good reason for this. Sharing information to potential clients online is one of the best ways to teach people about a particular topic and its very easy to implement on your own.
Webinars allow you to service a large amount of clients or customers at any one time which has taken the limit of one-on-one training to a whole new level.
The Importance of Google
Nowadays everyone seems to talk about Google. Google has become a part of the everyday english language.
So what makes it so popular and great
Well the answer lies in these facts.
Google is the only search engine that has the capability to search more than 9 million web pages (urls). It is able to crawl and index multiple pages at the same time and increase your chances of getting what you have been searching for. This returns only the most relevant results for your search term/query (keyword), website results are sorted so the you are able to get the best information as the first results of the page and so on.
How to Use The Wonder Wheel for Semantic Site Structuring
Because you’re using the Wonder Wheel to analyze keyword relationships for site structuring, the obvious place to start is with your site keyword – or the topic for your site.
From there, the “branches” off the keyword may be logical category ideas – the branches off them may be logical subcategories – and so-on.
(Obviously, by then analyzing the traffic, value and competition around the keywords in Market Samurai – and focusing on high traffic, low competition, high value keywords – you’ll be able to focus your site structure onto the most profitable keywords.)
